I had the opportunity to intern for Kennari Consulting during my last semester at Grand Valley State University in the winter of 2022.

During my intern experience with the Kennari team, I was immersed into the nonprofit fundraising consulting world that consisted of components such as event planning, shadowing client meetings with consultants, supporting and developing communications, learning new approaches to research and data tracking, and supporting office management operations. The internship gave me valuable experience with fundraising programs and outcomes, building client relationships, and supporting internal management of the business. I enjoyed all aspects of my internship experience and was fortunate to become an official staff member on the Kennari team when my internship concluded.

Transitioning into my coordinator position, I have felt confident, and equipped with the skills and experience to provide excellence in my work both in campaigns and annual giving fundraising.

As a coordinator, I support annual giving clients with components such as major gift programs, donor communication plans, event strategies, peer to peer campaigns, and board development. I also support campaign clients in developing feasibility study lists, supporting organizations in the development of campaign strategies, gift solicitations, stewardship, cultivation, and campaign completion.

Transitioning into my coordinator position, I have felt confident, and equipped with the skills and experience to provide excellence in my work both in campaigns and annual giving fundraising. During my first week, I was prepared to assist the Kennari team and our clients with long-term development success.

I’m motivated to continue learning from the Kennari team as I connect with our clients and exemplify our values: learning, results, integrity, and excellence.
