The Community Food Club (CFC) opened its doors in 2015. The Club is a non-profit membership-based grocery store for those experiencing food insecurity and who are seeking more affordable access to fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods.
The annual giving team at Kennari conducted a full assessment of the Food Club’s development activities in 2019. From there, the team implemented a plan of work focused on building the donor base, increasing returns on direct mail and events, building annual major gifts, and expanding the staff focused on fundraising activities. The grants team also helped the Food Club work toward its goal of replication by coaching leadership in discussions and writing a successful Michigan Health Endowment grant. In just the first two years of working with the Community Food Club, Kennari’s work helped the Club double its number of donors, more than triple the amount raised in its year-end appeal, and create a successful monthly giving program.
“What I love about Kennari Consulting is that their team meets you where you are in your fundraising journey. Your consultants take the time to get to know your organization and design a plan of work that is realistic, while at the same time pushing you to achieve your development goals. With the support of Kennari Fundraising, the Community Food Club has been able to develop a clear development strategy with impactful results, all while remaining true to our mission and culture. I would highly recommend working with Kennari Consulting.”
