Strengthening Donor Engagement Through Strategic Events

When working with Blandford Nature Center, Kennari coached the organization to strengthen and update some elements of their annual giving infrastructure. This included enhancing and growing major gifts, implementing donor acquisition and donor cultivation events, and overall strengthening their relationship with their donors through communication and cultivation.

One specific initiative was helping them implement their first table hosted event: Galentine’s & Give. This event was designed to acquire donors and renew existing donors into greater gifts. Kennari provided an event toolkit, hands-on coaching, strategies to recruit table hosts, consulted with the table hosts, and helped create the program script, including the financial ask. We developed major and monthly giving programs together, provided feedback on the materials used to promote those giving programs, and launched those at the event.

The result? They had a little over 100 people in the room and raised a net of $30,000, many of those gifts from either first time donors or donors who renewed their giving at higher levels. The event’s return on investment is what we typically see for nonprofits hosting their first event of this style.
