More about Taylor:
How did you get started in fundraising/nonprofit work?
For the last decade, I’ve worked alongside nonprofit clients or within the nonprofit and higher education space. Most recently, I spent nearly four years leading digital engagement initiatives, supporting annual fund fundraising efforts, and creating new ways for the next generation to get involved with philanthropy. I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of strategy, technology, and people, and I love finding ways to bring curiosity, creativity, and digital thinking into the work I do every day.
How do you unwind after a day of work?
I’m a big fan of routines, so I usually keep things pretty simple: exercise, immediately changing into comfy clothes, a good dinner, and some screen time to wind down. I also love rotating through hobbies depending on the season. Lately, I’ve been learning film photography after being gifted an old Nikon N90. I recently adopted a Dalmatian named Dakota, so a lot of my free time now revolves around long walks and trying to tire her out on runs around Chicago.
What are you most excited about joining the Kennari team?
I’ve always been drawn to mission-driven work, strong communities, and environments that encourage curiosity and growth. From my first conversations with the team at Kennari, it felt like a place where I could really thrive. Nonprofits are navigating a rapidly changing digital landscape, often with limited resources, and I’m excited to be part of a team that helps organizations solve those challenges in thoughtful, impactful ways.
Where is your favorite place to go?
I feel lucky to live in Chicago because there’s always somewhere new to explore, but one of my favorite local spots is North Pond. A walk there is usually my way to clear my head after a long day. As for travel, Lisbon has been my favorite destination recently; incredible food, beautiful architecture, and a city with a lot to see.
What is something you’re passionate about?
Running has become a huge part of my life over the last four years. I’ve run a marathon and several half marathons. It’s been one of the biggest sources of community and connection for me, and living near Chicago’s lakefront trail makes it even better. I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys planning and organizing, so I’ve unofficially become the friend who coordinates group trips and travel plans each year.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I’ve always used an em dash (—), I promise it’s not just ai.
I will entertain a good hot take on a subject.
There’s a very good chance I say yes to going somewhere for lunch.
Nacho Libre is a cinematic goldmine and highly underrated.
If you’ve ever sent me a handwritten letter, I have kept it!
