Kirstin VanderMolen

After two decades of working in the nonprofit sector, Kirstin joined Kennari Consulting in 2011. In her role as Senior Strategist, she works with clients on various initiatives - from implementing and executing successful campaigns, to building strategies that are crucial in growing their annual giving activities.

Kirstin’s gift for troubleshooting is very helpful in her work with clients. She listens to the need, audits the resources, and builds the 'how-to' - providing the practical structure and follow-through required to turn a goal into a reality.

The Motivation

Kirstin truly cares about the success of the nonprofits she serves and is inspired by the way they transform their communities. Though she may not be on the front lines of the good work they’re doing, she finds her 'why' in helping nonprofits succeed.

The Impact

When Kirstin first started with Kennari, a lot of her work revolved around helping clients implement a donor acquisition event. One success story began with a small local nonprofit operating on a modest $35,000 budget. Kirstin partnered with them to architect a donor acquisition event that raised over $18,000 in its first year—securing more than half their annual funding in a single day. That same event is still thriving in our community today, now consistently generating $50,000–$60,000 annually to fuel their mission.

When she isn’t cheering on her clients’ latest wins, you’ll find Kirstin soaking up the summer sun on the lake or soaking in every possible moment with her grandbabies. To recharge, she finds painting by number a very soothing and relaxing way to unwind.
