Community Food Club
Building a successful fundraising plan
The Community Food Club (CFC) opened its doors in 2015. The Club is a non-profit membership-based grocery store for those experiencing food insecurity and who are seeking more affordable access to fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods.
Kennari Consulting started by conducting a full assessment of the Food Club’s development activities. From there, the team created a plan with a focus on building the donor base, increasing returns on direct mail and events, growing annual major gifts, and expanding the staff focused on fundraising activities.
In the first two years, CFC doubled the number of donors. The work has continued together and additional areas have been prioritized. Today, they have ongoing major gift support and are continuing to grow a sustaining monthly giving group.
